WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1919 during the first National Convention of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) has emerged as the world’s largest women’s patriotic service organization. The Auxiliary administers hundreds of volunteer programs, dedicates tens of thousands of hours to its communities and veterans, and raises millions of dollars to support programs and charities familiar to The Legion.

American Legion Auxiliary Eligibility Requirements:

Patriotism and veterans advocacy is a key component of our organization and for nearly a century, have been serving, educating, and giving to America’s finest- its servicemen and women. We answer the call of Service Not Self. We are the nearly ¾ million wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, granddaughters, and direct descendants of veterans who served our great country's call to arms, including some of ourselves. We are women who strive to make a difference- we’d love for you to take part of our mission.
